It is a great temple located in near river Ganga in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.  It is one of the holiest places to be reached in India. It is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Hindu god.  It is also one of the twelve holiest Shiva temples termed as Jyotirlingas. Varanasi is also called as Kashi. Shiva is also known as the ruler of the universe. It is reconstructing from years to years, the present structure of the Kashi Vishwanath temple was built by Ahilya Bai Holkar in 1780.

The temple is located on the western side of river Ganga in Varanasi. The temple is 5km away from Cantt railway station. You can reach the temple by bus or rickshaw.

Best time to visit Kashi Vishwanath temple is in the month of November to March, the climate is pleasant which makes sightseeing better for clicking a picture and awesome view. The rituals start at the 3 AM. In the morning and in case you missed it then you can attend it also at 11 AM. In the evening Ganga Aarti starts at 7 PM. And the temple closes by 11 PM in the night.
